Sacramento, CA - Assemblymember Chris Holden’s bill that establishes a transit pass pilot program, Assembly Bill 17, cleared the legislature today and is heading to Governor Jerry Brown’s desk. The proposed transit pass pilot program would provide free or reduced cost transit passes for low-income K-12 and college students.

Sacramento, CA – A coalition of state legislators, developmental disabilities services providers and their clients, and unions gathered at the State Capitol for a rally in support Assembly Bill 279 (Holden) to help people with developmental disabilities. Assembly Bill 279 requires the State to adjust reimbursement rates for developmental disability service providers in order to comply with mandated minimum wage increases.

The town hall presented an opportunity for members of the community to talk to the Attorney General, the Assemblymember and other elected officials about issues and concerns about protecting California's values.

Sacramento, CA – In an effort to lessen dependency on fossil fuel-based energy during the solar eclipse on August 21st, Assembly Committee on Utilities and Energy Chair, Chris Holden (AD – 41), introduced House Resolution 50. The measure encourages all Californians to reduce energy use, and pledge to “Do Your Thing for the Sun” during the hours of 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on August 21st, 2017.
Sacramento, CA – Today the California Legislature passed legislation to extend California’s Cap and Trade Program, Assembly Bill 398, and strengthen air quality provisions in areas with the worst air pollution, Assembly Bill 617.
“Today’s vote extending California’s Cap and Trade Program means California will maintain its global leadership role in combating climate change,” said Assemblymember Chris Holden. “The air quality agreement also prioritizes the states most disadvantaged communities who face the greatest burden of pollution.”
(South Pasadena, CA) — Assemblymember Chris Holden (D-Pasadena) and a coalition of city council members, community leaders, and non-profit organizations held a press conference outside the Mission Street Gold Line Metro Station in South Pasadena to announce the introduction of Assembly Bill 287, which finds a solution to the State Route 710 corridor gap between the I-10 and I-210 freeways and prohibits the construction of a freeway tunnel.
