Assemblymember Chris Holden’s Statement On Glendora Fire

For immediate release:

Pasadena – Assemblymember Chris Holden (D-Pasadena/Monrovia) has issued the following statement on the Colby fire burning out-of-control in the San Gabriel foothills:

“The fire burning in the Angeles National Forest north of Glendora has now consumed more than 1,700 acres of brush prompting evacuations in the foothill areas and threatening homes.

Fire officials have arrested three suspects in connection with the fire and are asking non-essential personnel to stay out of the area.

Los Angeles County Captain Sam Padilla says we are not out of the woods yet because of the threat from afternoon winds and they are continuing to fight hot spots in both Azusa and Glendora.

My office is working with local, county and state officials to make sure that cities and fire personnel have all the resources they need.  We will continue to monitor the fire and conditions along the foothill corridor and let our residents know of any further developments.”
