After a Three-Year Effort, Another Win for the Developmental Disability Community

Sacramento, CA – After a three-year legislative and budget battle to increase funding for developmental disability service providers, Assemblymember Chris Holden has claimed another victory to add more than $200 million in new state funding, in addition to the $200 million federal matching funds, for a total of over $400 million for the developmental disability community.  This increase will address the minimum wage disparity and help nearly 330,000 Californians living with these disabilities to find the services they need to lead valued and productive lives within our community.

Claremont/Pomona Locally Grown Power Receives $2.1 Million in 2019-20 State Budget Funding

Local non-profit efforts will bring solar energy to the masses, create jobs, and cut carbon emissions

 

SACRAMENTO, CA - The California Legislature passed the 2019-20 State Budget and it includes $2.1 million in funding for the construction on an advanced manufacturing facility that will produce patented-technology solar panels for low-to-moderate income (LMI) households, employ more than 200 local residents and help the cities of Claremont and Pomona significantly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Sacramento, CA – In a ceremony in Sacramento, Assemblymember Chris Holden honored Micky’s Jewelry Studio of La Verne as “Small Business of the Year” for the 41st Assembly District. Micky Rehm, who founded the business, received the recognition during the Annual Small Business of the Year Luncheon organized by the California Small Business Association.

Sacramento, CA – Today, the California Legislature passed the 2019-20 State Budget.  The budget is once again balanced and on-time. It ensures Californian’s continue to receive the services they expect while continuing to grow our reserves to $19.4 billion, including the Rainy Day Fund to $16.5 billion. The governor and legislature still need to finalize the budget agreement which will be acted upon next week.   Assemblymember Chris Holden released the following statement:
