(Pasadena) We are pleased to announce that the Community Resource Fair and Block Party will take place on July 26, 2014 from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM at 589 Jackson Street. This event is an effort to distribute information about state and local programs and services available to residents of the 41st Assembly District.

Event activities include live music, rides for the children, resource tables with State agencies, cities and nonprofits sharing useful information. Free hot dogs cooked by the Pasadena Police will also be provided.

Parking for the event will be located on El Molino, Los Robles, and the open sections of Madison and Oakland Avenue. Jackson from El Molino to Los Robles, Madison from Jackson to Thompson and the entrance to Jackson from Oakland will be closed from 8 AM – 6 PM.

Sacramento – Including President Barack Obama in California textbooks seems like a no-brainer. But, it’s not necessarily so. That’s why Assemblymember Chris Holden’s legislation would include recognizing the historical significance of President Obama as the first African American President.

Sacramento - Assemblymember Chris Holden’s bill (D-Pasadena) to combat the growing problem of kitchen grease theft has passed by unanimous vote in the Assembly and now heads to the Senate.

Pasadena – “As you prepare for the holiday weekend and time with family and friends, I want to encourage you to think safety first,” said Assemblymember Chris Holden. “The California Highway Patrol will be out in force beginning Friday and they advise drivers to leave early to allow additional time, don’t drink and drive, and obey the speed limit.”
