Assemblymember Chris Holden Accepting Applications for 2020 Young Legislators Program

Pasadena, CA – Assemblymember Chris Holden (AD – 41) today announced the availability of applications for the 2020 Young Legislators Program. Now in its fourth year, the Young Legislators Program, offers high school seniors in the 41st Assembly District a front row seat to the public policy and political arena.

“I’m excited to launch the fourth annual Young Legislators Program for the 41st Assembly District,” said Assemblymember Chris Holden. “I have no doubt this program will again have a lasting impact on the students and I look forward to meeting next year’s Young Legislators.”

Wildfire Legislation Clears Assembly Floor

Sacramento (CA) – Today the California State Assembly passed sweeping wildfire preparedness and response legislation that includes provisions to make the electricity system safer and protect ratepayers from the uncertainty utility bankruptcy. The legislation also protects wildfire victims’ rights in civil actions and bans the use of ratepayer funds for executive compensation or perks.

Legislation Honors Victims of 1972 Arroyo Seco Bridge Collapse with Memorial

Pasadena, CA – Legislation to memorialize the area around the Foothill Bridge collapse of 1972, Assembly Concurrent Resolution 250, passed the Senate Transportation and Housing Committee. The incident – where six lives were lost – occurred on the Foothill Freeway near Devil’s Gate in the City of Pasadena on Tuesday, October 17, 1972.
