COVID-19 Information for College Students

Much is being asked of college students. One of the most frequently asked questions is about how this will affect student aid. The CA Student Aid Commission does not predict any changes to our state financial aid program, including the Cal Grant. The Federal Student Aid Office is providing information on this for college students and their families.

Further, the Federal Government has suspended Federal Student Loan interest accrual for 60 days and given students the option to suspend payments for 60 days as well.

In addition, the state legislature funded basic needs programs, such as food pantries, at all our public higher education institutions so that local resources are available to students in need.

Finally, my office will assist in any way we can so don’t hesitate to reach out over email or phone.

I promise to keep you informed of new information as it becomes available. And remember to wash those hands!
