Honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Legacy and Memory

Even now, a half century after the world lost Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., his contributions and legacy remain unmatched toward developing a more equal and just society.

Each year, the Legislature honors his birthday with a Concurrent Resolution. I am proud to be a co-author of Assembly Concurrent Resolution 117 to honor Martin Luther King Jr. in 2022.

Today, I write to encourage you to give back to your community in his memory and participate in a local event virtually.

In his words, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?'”

As we remember the past, we must audit ourselves to use those lessons to inform the present and shape the future. I trust that you will take on an act of kindness and/or service this week to commemorate his legacy.
