Dive Warriors’ Kyle Schneider Named 41st Assembly District’s “Veteran of the Year”
Sacramento, CA – Dive Warriors’ Kyle M. Schneider was recognized as the 41st Assembly District’s “Veteran of the Year” by Assemblymember Chris Holden. Schneider began serving as a Veteran Advocate after his time of service in the Navy.
Schneider serves as Executive Vice President and is a staff member of Dive Warriors, a 501(c)3 non-profit which helps disabled veterans build confidence and self-esteem by providing scuba diving experiences and lessons. Dive Warriors works with wheelchair and amputee disabled veterans and those who from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
“Kyle’s work through Dive Warriors is an incredible story of veterans helping veterans,” said Assemblymember Chris Holden. “Through scuba diving, Kyle helps disabled veterans regain their independence, make new friends and inspire a sense of self-worth, while providing unforgettable underwater experiences.”
Schneider is also a member of American Legion post 283 Pacific Palisades, an Ambassador with the Upland Chamber of Commerce, and one of four scuba instructors for Dive Warriors. He also helps provide a veterans voice on the Veteran Committee Outreach Team at Loma Linda Veteran Affairs Medical Center, and performs countless speaking engagement across Southern California in order to help raise funds and spread awareness of the work Dive Warriors is doing for the disabled veteran community.
Kyle M. Schneider served in the United States Navy for eight years from 1998-2006 serving aboard the USS Constellation (CV-64) until 2003 and then spent the remaining years in the reserves out of Coronado Island. He was honorably discharged in 2002, 2003, and 2006 while obtaining the rank of Third Class Petty Officer. He currently resides in the City of Upland with his wife, of 3 years, Khanh Ly Schneider.
