Rancho Cucamonga (CA) – As Chair of the Assembly Select Committee on Regional Transportation Solutions, Assemblymember Chris Holden hosted a local informational hearing, "Securing Transportation Growth Opportunities" to discuss and address timely transportation issues for the region and state.
“California faces diverse transportation needs,” said Assemblymember Holden. “The Select Committee on Regional Transportation Solutions serves as a mechanism to bring local partners together to foster dialogue and regional cooperation regarding the most pressing transit needs facing local governments.”
Participating panelists discussed existing funding, such as SB1 tax dollars, to take advantage of growth opportunities across the region — from assessing the needs of the region to presenting existing and future projects that serve the area — while focusing on the current state of available funding for planned projects.
Assemblymembers in the Select Committee on Regional Transportation Solutions participating in the hearing included Assemblymember Chris Holden (AD – 41), Assemblymember Eloise Gomez Reyes (AD – 47), and Senator Connie Leyva.
Topics for the first panel, Regional Planning, included planning and environmental concerns, transit updates, and sustainability programs. Topics for the second panel, Connectivity, included discussion on connectivity across the region, touching on rail and airport connectivity and their importance. The third panel discussed projects receiving funding from Senate Bill 1.
