For immediate release:
Sacramento, CA – Today, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) announced its intention to file for bankruptcy. Assemblymember Chris Holden issued the following statement:
“The report of PG&E’s likely bankruptcy is deeply concerning news for the state, fire victims, and ratepayers. We don’t want to see the victims victimized again. I remain committed to working with my colleagues in the Legislature, Governor Newsom and the CPUC to ensure that the interests of fire victims are protected and ratepayer expectations for safe, affordable and reliable power needs are met. The filing was just announced today so we need to assess the full scope of the repercussions before we can determine the best course of action.”
