Sacramento, CA – For the 41st Assembly District’s 2020 Nonprofit of the Year, Assemblymember Chris Holden has chosen to honor the Social Justice Advocacy Project, Inc. a nonprofit organization that provides empowerment tools to marginalized communities for better access to self-determination.
“The Social Justice Advocacy Project, Inc. is at the front lines in our communities making a positive impact for disfranchised individuals through both direct support and advocacy,” said Assemblymember Chris Holden. “At this time, we are seeing a groundswell of public support for racial justice and equality, but it’s important to recognize organizations and individuals who are doing the difficult work at the local level to dismantle systemic racism and lift communities to their full potential.”
The Social Justice Advocacy Project, Inc. is a data-driven, action-based organization that creates resources available to the community. They conduct research on local needs and find solutions to fulfill those needs. The Social Justice Advocacy Project, Inc. hosts programs, workshops, seminars, training, events, classes, and anything else within their capacity to meet the needs of the community.
“We are honored to receive this recognition on behalf of the community," said Thomas D. Allison, Esq., M.P.A, President and Founder of Social Justice Advocacy Project, Inc. "The more than 70 pro bono community legal clinics, more than one hundred community education workshops, seminars, and presentations, and 15 facilitated dialogues we have done over the last five years are because of the efforts of and collaboration with our volunteers and many community partners and co-sponsors. This recognition is for the community.”
