Assemblymember Holden Annual Shoe Drive: Putting Our Best Foot Forward for the Community

For immediate release:

Pasadena, CA – Assemblymember Chris Holden hosted his annual Shoe Drive with key community partner, Shoes That Fit, to provide new athletic shoes to school aged children in need. The contactless ‘give-and-go’ shoe drive took place in front of the District Office 9:00-11:00am at 600 North Rosemead Blvd.

"We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Assemblymember Holden this holiday season to give new shoes to kids who need them! Since 2014, his shoe drive has contributed over 1,300 pairs of shoes and thousands of dollars to help local school children. Children's need for new athletic shoes has increased exponentially and too many family budgets cannot accommodate this critical need. Shoes That Fit is honored to have Assemblymember Holden's support as we help kids across the country learn, play and thrive,” said CEO and Executive Director of Shoes That Fit, Amy Fass.

Shoes That Fit, based in Claremont California, has raised over 2.3 million pairs of new shoes to date to help school aged children and this year, Assemblymember Holden’s Shoe Drive collected close to 100 pairs of shoes.

“Today, the community came together to ensure children and families have access to more resources, and I look forward to continue this annual tradition of giving each year,” said Holden.
