Ombudsman Communications moves along in the Legislative Process

For immediate release:

Sacramento, CA – Today, Assemblymember Chris Holden’s bill, AB 895 Skilled nursing facilities, intermediate care facilities, and residential care facilities for the elderly: notice to prospective residents passed Senate Committee on Human Resources.

AB 895 would require skilled nursing facilities to facilitate the introduction of prospective residents and their caregivers to the local long-term care ombudsman representative. The ombudsman can help them learn pertinent information about the facility and be an advocate for the resident over the course of their stay at the facility.

“Removing barriers and creating equitable access to communication and information is one way we can make the lives of Californians across the generations’ easier.” said Assemblymember Holden.
