Having health insurance is critical — now more than ever. During this time of national emergency, we know there are thousands of people affected by income changes, reduced hours and layoffs leaving many Californians without health insurance coverage. The Department of Consumers Affairs (DCA) administers more than 3.9 million licenses in more than 280 license types including certificates, registrations and permits, from architects to accountants, dentists to veterinarians. DCA protects and serves consumers in many ways.

San Bernardino County
Governor Gavin Newsom announced the launch of a first-in-the-nation Great Plates Delivered program. The program is designed to support adults 65 and older and adults 60-64 who are at high-risk from COVID-19, in staying home and staying healthy by delivering three (3) nutritious meals a day, and also provide essential economic stimulus to local businesses and workers struggling to stay afloat during the COVID-19 crisis.

City of Sierra Madre
Sierra Madre Cares is an initiative designed to assist Sierra Madre residents and business owners during the current COVID-19 pandemic. As part of that initiative, the city is offering a small business grant program, a plan to provide opportunities for outdoor seating and dining throughout downtown Sierra Madre, and a plan for outdoor facility use. In addition, the city has prepared a Senior Communication Plan that outlines resources available to seniors.
If you know of any families that are unable to get to one of the seven PUSD sites to pick up food during the distribution time, please email Collaborate PASadena and they will be able to assist with delivery. Please put 'food delivery' in the subject line and include as much of the following information as possible in the body of the email.

The City of San Dimas will continue to assess the impact of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), in consultation with Los Angeles County Public Health Officials. The city is taking extra precautions for the safety and well-being of our staff and the public. We are following recommendations and best practices from the CDC and LA County Department of Public Health. We are monitoring the situation and are prepared to respond should the situation change.

Meals for Seniors
If you are interested in being a part of the Senior Lunch Program, call (909) 394-6290. Participants will be able to pick up their lunch curbside on Wednesdays between 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. outside of the entry doors of the multi-purpose lunchroom and will receive a five-day supply of boxed lunches and frozen meals. Participants are encouraged to bring a tote bag to transport the boxed lunches and frozen meals provided.
On April 24, 2020, Governor Newsom announced the launch of a first-in-the-nation "Restaurants Deliver: Home Meals for Seniors" program, in partnership with counties, cities, and tribes.

The current Los Angeles County eviction moratorium prevents eviction of tenants but does not address the financial impact on the landlord at present, or the tenant upon expiration of the moratorium. The purpose of the rental assistance is to provide emergency rental assistance grants to income-eligible households economically impacted during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rental assistance will be in the form of a monthly rental payment (or arrears) made on behalf of an eligible household to their landlord or property management agent or company, in a reasonable amount determined by the agency for a maximum of two months.

City of La Verne
The City of La Verne is offering a one-time Business Assistance Grant of $2,500 to eligible businesses to help them re-open, create jobs, retain jobs, and offer quality services to the residents of La Verne. Grant funds may be used for overhead expenses, rent, utilities, business services such as web site development to increase capacity, and the necessary equipment to continue business operations, among others.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the California Safer at Home Initiative, our aging population has an increased need for timely delivery services. Workforce Development, Aging and Community Services (WDACS) has launched a free pickup and delivery program for older adults and individuals with disabilities. The countywide program will deliver groceries, household items, and other vital necessities to individuals who are unable to leave their homes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Items may be delivered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at no cost to the client. No application process is required, however, items must be pre-paid and ready for pickup. Deliveries may be scheduled by calling (888) 863-7411 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Clients may utilize this service up to four times or 40 miles per month, whichever comes first.

The City of Upland has developed the Small Business COVID-19 Economic Relief Program (SBCERP) to assist Upland commercial small businesses with 1-50 employees to become COVID-19 compliant with governmental public health orders for the duration of the pandemic. The SBCERP may provide up to $1,000 in a reimbursable grant to eligible business expenses for COVID-19 compliant purchases.
