(Claremont, CA) – Hydraulic fracturing or “fracking” is the method of injecting water and chemicals into the ground at very high pressures for the purpose of extracting oil. Fracking is an extremely controversial topic in regards to California’s environment and water supply, and is the topic of much heated debate. California State Assemblymember Chris Holden (D-Pasadena) wants to clear up speculation about what fracking does, so he hosted a community briefing about the mysterious process in Claremont at Taylor Hall.
