(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Chris Holden (D-Pasadena) and the rest of the California State Assembly adjourned in the memory of baseball legend Tony Gwynn following his untimely death from cancer. Gwynn was 54 years old. Assemblymember Holden, who knew Gwynn during his high school years and as a classmate at San Diego State University, remembered Gwynn as much more than a baseball player, “The one word that I would say best describes Tony Gwynn is…loyal. He was a loyal teammate. He was a loyal friend. And he was a loyal husband.”
