(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Chris Holden (D-Pasadena), Chair of the Legislative Black Caucus, led a special ceremony on the Assembly floor to mark February 2018 as Black History Month. Assemblymember Holden urged all citizens to join in celebrating the accomplishments of African Americans and noted this year’s Black History Month theme is African-Americans during a time of war. “This month we honor the men and women who have made brave sacrifices to protect this land of freedom, including the first African-American to shed blood in the Revolutionary War against British rule, Crispus Attucks,” Assemblymember Holden said.
