I hope you and your family are doing well in these difficult times. I wanted to take an opportunity and provide you with an update on what the State is doing to address the COVID-19 epidemic and the resources available for you.
On March 16, the California State Legislature passed a $1.1 billion dollar Budget package to bolster the State’s response to both medical needs of people with the virus and help implement drastic mitigation efforts necessary to deal with the pandemic.
California continues to issue updates on COVID-19 including the latest mitigation efforts, facts about the virus, and guidance documents on the California Department of Public Health website and on the Governor’s COVID-19 Website.

It is vital that everyone follow the directives of our public health agencies in order to protect our families, friends and neighbors. When everybody takes the proper action, resources will be available to those who need it. We will slow the virus, and together, we will overcome this hardship.

Additional resources for small businesses can be found here and here.
Many utility and telecommunication providers are waiving late fees and ceasing shutoffs. Please check with your local service provider for their latest policy.
My team and I continue to remain actively engaged with federal, state, and local health authorities to ensure that all are responding together to prevent and address risks associated with COVID-19. The public is encouraged to call (800) CDC-INFO or (800-232-4636) with any questions. Together, we can keep our communities healthy and safe.
Lastly, during this time, my staff will be available to assist you with state-related issues, Department of Motor Vehicle issues, licensing complaints, Medi-Cal, and more. If you need assistance from our office please email Karen.Wingard@asm.ca.gov.
